Optimize Your Experience @ grayczyk.com
This page is to help you get the most out of your experience here at grayczyk.com,
as well as troubleshoot any display problems you might have.
Internet Connection
This site was designed for users with a broadband (DSL, Cable, or better) Internet
connection. Those of you still hanging onto your dial-up connection are going to
be seeing this more and more often as broadband continues to gain popularity and
become the preferred type of connection for most Internet users. The popularity of
broadband allows us web developers to be more creative and pack more content and
functionality into our web pages. This is especially important for grayczyk.com,
since the site itself should showcase examples of our work and abilities.
This site will function just fine on a dial-up connection; the only problem for
some might be loading times. Dial-up users should expect a similar load time as
sites like MSN.com or MSNBC.com (probably less, depending on your system).
Browser Compatibility
Like all of our work, this website is designed to meet or exceed our
compatibility standards.
For the best experience, we recommend using Internet Explorer 6+, Netscape 8+,
Mozilla Firefox 1.5+, or Safari 1.0+.
This site might not function properly with earlier than version 5 of Internet
Explorer, earlier than version 6 of Netscape, or any Mozilla browser released
prior to Firefox.
Operating Systems
This website should function on any operating system with the correct browser.
However, for optimum performance, we suggest the following:
- WINDOWS
- Any version of Windows 2000/Win2K Server
- Any version of Windows XP
- Anything in the Windows Server 2003 family
- Windows Vista
- MiniGI, our Mobile Companion Site, is designed specifically for optimal
performance on Windows Mobile 5.0
- MAC
Enable Cookies
This is the number one way someone might have a problem on this website. To
properly view this site, you must have 1st-party cookies enabled. For more
information about cookies,

Screen Resolution/Monitor
Assuming any side-bar your browser (or operating system) might have is turned
off, this website is designed to not side-scroll in a maximized window at a
1024x768 resolution. We recommend a non-maximized window at a resulution of
1280x1024 or higher. To further optimize your experience, we suggest using the
full-color (32bit) setting. And of course, anything looks better a flat panel
monitor or laptop, but any monitor with good color works nicely.
System Requirements
Min. 128Mb RAM/ 1.0GHz processor/ 5Mb free cache
This site will work with less, but for optimal performance, we recommend a
minimum of the above system configuration.
Flash 8 or higher
Like all previous versions of our website, grayczyk.com makes extensive use of
Flash. The site isn't all Flash this time, but we do use it throughout the
site. If you cannot see the animation on the homepage, then you need to
download the free Flash plugin from Adobe.
Image Toolbars & Image Resizing Disabled
Image Toolbars are an increasingly common feature found in newer broswers. They
usually allow a user to do things like copying, printing, saving, and other
manipulation of individual images on web pages. This site is our intellectual
property. As such, we are opposed to the potential infringement that browser
Image Toolbars allow. Therefore, we ask that you do not use image toolbars
while visiting grayczyk.com.
Many newer browsers have an image resizing feature. It may or may not be part
of the image toolbar. Our website is powered by a graphic-based template that
may be adversely affected by browser-based image resizing. We see our website
just as any artist views their work, and as such, should not be manipulated
by a viewer.
Other Client-Side Customization
If you are using any other types of customization to browse the web, such as a
different font, font-size, or even your own Cascading Stylesheet (CSS), we
suggest that you turn them all off and let us handle the visual appearance of
our site (we are professionals, after all). Please do
not contact us
about any display problems if you have any client-side (browser-based)
customizations enabled. If you must use such features, do so at your own risk.
Scripting Enabled
If you're really paranoid about malicious web sites, you probably have
client-side scripting (
e.g. JavaScript) disabled. To view this site
properly, you must have scripting enabled. We won't hurt you, we promise.
Without scripting turned on, many features on this site, including our
portfolio, certain forms, etc. will not function or be displayed properly.
Pop-Up Blockers
At this time pop-up blockers do not in any way adversely affect the performance
of grayczyk.com. In fact, we use them ourselves. At this time, we have no
plans to implement any feature that pops-up a new window without you clicking
a link to bring up the window. We will try to warn you when a click will open
a new window, unless it is a link to a site outside grayczyk.com - these will
always open in a new window.
