Support Tip #3: If you can't send email, but you can receive email, this can usually be solved by making sure "my outgoing server requires authentication" (or similar) is checked in your email program.

Accepted File Formats

You may wish to send us files for inclusion in your project. This might be text content, graphics, logos, color samples, photos, etc. We support a large variety of standard Windows-compatible and cross-platform formats.

All files submitted to us must have an extension. The extension (for the many people that may not know) is a series of characters after the last dot (".") in a file name. It tells a computer what kind of file it is. We mention this because we've received a great many files created on Macs that have no extension at all. Without the extension, a critical clue as to what kind of file we're looking at is gone. And it's simply not practical to drop a mystery file into every program we have to see if it's a readable format - so we just prefer to avoid extensionless file altogether.

For Text...

We prefer: *.txt *.doc *.htm *.html  We will also accept: *.rtf *.ppt
You may also fax or mail us text on paper for a $10 per page transcription fee. ¹

For Logos...

We prefer: (Vector graphics if possible) *.ai *.eps *.png  We will also accept: *.psd *.pdf *.gif *.jpg *.tif *.bmp *.wmf *.fla (if the logo is vector)

For other Images...

We prefer: (hi-res and full-color) *.jpg *.tif *.tiff *.png *.ai *.eps  We will also accept:*.pdf *.gif *.bmp *.fla *.psd *.wmf *.ppt

For videos...

Acceptable format depends on what its intended use is. Please contact us if you need to send videos.

For Fonts...

We prefer: *.ttf  We will also accept: *.fon
If all you have is a Mac font, go ahead and send it. We may be able to convert it to something more readable. And if all else fails, there is a good chance you'll be able to find something that is at least really close to what you were looking for in our collection of well over 1,000 fonts.

Click here for our article on fonts for use on the web.

For packages ("archives") of multiple files...

We prefer: *.zip We will also accept: *.rar *.ace

And for those that don't know, simply adding an extension or changing it to one of those listed above, will not make a file compatible. It must be created in one of the above formats.

NOTICE: Please do not send us any files unless we are actively working with you on a project. If we are working with you on a project, and the files you need to send are less than 6 MB, you may email them to the address that we gave you. Otherwise you'll have to burn them to CD and either mail it to us, or drop it off at our office. HINT: You can usually significantly reduce file sizes by compressing them using a utility such as WinZip.

Please ensure all files are VIRUS FREE before sending them. We cannot accept any disc, email, or file that contains any virus, worm, trojan, malware, etc. There are a number of antivirus programs out there. ClamWin is a good free AV system. AVG is another good one that is free for personal use.

¹ What we consider to be one page is the amount of 12pt arial text that will fit on 1 page in MS Word with the default margin configuration.
